Director, Ad Operations

Summary

The Director of Ad Operations at Powers of Reasoning is a hands-on, strategic leadership position focused on executing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the Ad Operations department. While you will play a key role in establishing best practices, processes, and technical infrastructure, your primary focus in the near term will be ensuring the smooth execution of campaigns through direct collaboration with partners who will be working on the ground. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to implement efficient ad trafficking, data management, and campaign optimization, ensuring seamless execution and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

This role will manage the end-to-end Operations > Optimization process, including but not limited to:

Collaborative Execution & Troubleshooting

  • As the primary point of contact for marketing technology-related queries, you will work with external partners and internal teams to troubleshoot issues, set up campaigns, and ensure seamless ad delivery. You’ll serve as the go-to person to solve problems that arise in real-time and adjust strategies when necessary.

  • Support and scale analytics dashboards, toolset and data management platforms across client teams.

  • Advise on campaign set up (naming, tagging, etc.)

  • Leverage digital campaign execution knowledge to work with Strategy team to help develop campaign KPIs using historical performance data

  • Govern the organization’s data to create standardization, streamlined communication, and ensure it can be seamlessly fed into outsourced tools and systems

  • Establish/refine processes and training parameters to ensure flawless, on-time execution by operational teams  and external partners

Audit and evaluate technology solutions

  • That Powers is using and identify opportunities to improve and/or create new tools and systems that will drive savings or generate new revenue.

  • Develop and deploy data management, reporting solutions, and meaningful documentation that captures the value created by new capability 

Identify and oversee the deployment of digital technology solutions and partnerships

  • Such as ad servers, data management tools, media planning/buying and billing systems, that deliver against client and organizational needs.

  • Primary point of contact for internal Marketing Technology questions/issues/POV. Partnering with Power’s internal team to prioritize key partners and initiatives

  • Ensure teams are effectively and efficiently using current tools and systems through training and/or establishment and adherence to best practices

  • Partner with Strategy teams on the business to deliver best product and best thinking across, search, social, mobile, display and video to establish technology needs and requirements

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in trafficking systems, tagging tools, and data mining / reporting functions. Specifically, the candidate must have advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including expertise in complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, and data visualization.

  • Strong understanding of digital media channels (paid social, programmatic, search, influencer marketing, etc.) and experience with standard ad servers & media buying platforms, such as Google Campaign Manager, Prisma, etc.

  • Video ad serving experience is required. Working knowledge of major video ad serving platforms, such as Google Ad Manager and Innovid, is desirable

  • Experience with implementing, testing, and troubleshooting conversion tracking systems or container tag solutions, such as Google Tag Manager (GTM), Google Campaign Manager (CM) Floodlight, Tealium, or Segment.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Jira).
